We really need your help right now.

Of course it's cold and wintry and we're an ice cream store. We need you to come and treat yourself so we can make payroll! That's true, but there's really more to it this time. For the second year, we are teaming up with the Annapolis Santa Run. We've tried our best to get the word out about the Santa Run, but here's the lowdown: It's a toy drive where the Annapolis Professional Firefighters head out on their trucks with Santa and collect toys for needy children in the greater Annapolis area. The goal is simple: make sure every child has a gift under the tree on Christmas morning.

We know times are hard and we also know that everyone, including us, is bombarded by donation requests this time of year. But we ask that you seriously consider supporting the Santa Run. This charitable event is run by local volunteers helping local people. It means that what you give goes right to the children, HERE, not somewhere far away. It also means that everything you give goes to benefit the children, the people running this do it on a volunteer basis on a very lean budget that covers gas for the trucks and maybe cleaning a few Santa suits.

At Bruster's we are collecting toys and trying to "Fill-a-Freezer" with toys for the Santa Run. We kick off one of the five routes and wouldn't it be great if we loaded the truck up so much that the firefighters had to unload before they even started? Just drop off a toy at the windows between now and Sunday at 4pm and we'll thank you by giving you a free single scoop. Since it's a free scoop, feel free to try a new flavor, you might find a new favorite.

Also, feel free to stop by on Sunday at 4pm to meet Santa on the fire truck!
